Easy win now for White. How far would you like to back up?

I think I'd like to analyze this from the start, I like this position

OK, 1. Kf1.  Your move.

Do you think the starting position is a draw or a win for White?

It appears that ChesswithNickolay's engine can't make up its mind.

But my stipulation was "White to play and win" which means I think it's a win for White.

Yeah, even though it's highly counter-intuitive, Kf1 wins

Do you want to take White and demonstrate the win? I could try to stop you as Black.

The endgames are hard. I usually lose by time out.(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

I actually really like the endgame. It's like a completely different game from the middlegame and opening

Notice how those who like endgames are better at chess than those who don't.

It can affect what to play during the middlegame.

If you think endgames are boring, check out Van-Perlo’s Endgame Tactics. The latest edition has 1375 amazing tactical positions arranged in an organized way. You will often see victory defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, blunders, and many beautiful tactics (sometimes with flaws). In the last part it even has exercises for you to test your rook ending skills.

Endgames are my favorite part of the game, I have insane endgame knowledge, much higher than for my level. I honestly enjoy endgames!

What are your favorite resources?

About a week ago I discovered Secrets of Pawn Endings, Muller & Lamprecht.  I love it.  I've learned so much from it.

My girlfriend's parents, knowing I had taken an interest in chess, purchased Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual for me as a Christmas present. I don't have the heart tell them how lost I am by the 2nd chapter.

Hell of a first chess book.

Ha!  Hanging Pawns -- I think he's around 1900 FIDE -- says that that book is very difficult for him.  All the more so for mortals like us!

Saying I'm more than mortal for liking endgames? Thanks lol

I'm saying that pretty much anyone under 2000 -- i.e., mere mortals -- will find Dvoretsky difficult (or so says every review I've read of it)

If I were going to give a chess player an endgame book as a present, it would be Fundamental Chess Endings by Müller and Lamprecht.
