1. e4 vs 1. d4

I am 450 elo, I started play chess three months ago and I'm not sure which opening to play, should I let go of 1. e4 I've read about 1. e4 being sharp and aggressive opening and and if you're more of calm and positional type of player you should play 1. d4 but it's boring so I play 1. e4 but I noticed that whenever things messy I tend to lose, am I not good enough for 1. e4 and should just play 1. d4

I will advice any beginner to play 1.e4 (and 1.e4 e5 as Black). It will often lead to open positions with lots of tactics, and thereby you will improve faster.

Later you can switch to 1.d4 if slower play and more closed positions suits you style better.

Both are best but if you're struggling to find which is best for you just search up chesspersnality.com on chrome and click on the take a quiz button (it's chess.com newest website) answer the questions they will show you and after the result appears look for attack vs positional, if the line goes more to attack then go with e4 if the line goes more to positional then go with d4
