🚀 100 Points in 30 Days – Jim’s Journey from 1380 to 1480 Rapid on Liches

Meet Jim, a dedicated student from the USA who gained 100 rapid rating points on lichess in just one month! 📈 His current progress is not only impressive—it’s above average for players in his range. Our goal? Reach 1800 in four months. And based on this pace, we’re right on track.

🧠 What’s the Secret? The 5 Key Elements of My Coaching:

  1. Tactical Training – Daily custom tactics suited to the student’s level.

  2. Playing by Principles – Understanding key concepts over memorizing lines.

  3. Consistency – Structured, daily practice.

  4. Middlegame Mastery – Pattern recognition, planning, and strategy.

  5. Endgame Fundamentals – Knowing how to convert advantages and hold ground.

Notice: Openings are not the priority. While most players obsess over memorizing moves, my students focus on principles—and it works.

📬 How the Program Works:

After signing up, students are added to a private Slack channel for direct, 1-on-1 communication. From there, the program includes:

  • 🎯 Daily tasks (tactics, middlegame, endgame)

  • 🎥 One live 60-minute Zoom lesson per week

  • ♟️ Daily games on Chess.com or Lichess

  • Progress monitoring and direct feedback

This approach guarantees rapid improvement for players rated between 400–1800 online.

I hate to say it but. 1380-1490 in a month is not impressive. You literally start at 1500 elo.
Chess_Polimac

But if you are a beginner, you do not last long at 1500, correct?

Correct

#3, 1500 on Lichess is about 800 on chess.com. Most 1000s on chess.com are about 1800 on Lichess.

I have six students aged 10 from the USA, plus a rating of 2000 on Chess.com. You are doing well, and your goal of reaching 2000 by the end of 2025 is very realistic, but let's see.

This student is 65 a 65-year-old man from the USA, and I am so proud of him

https://www.chessdom.com/chess-school-polimac/ I am a humble coach who works hard for my students, learning alongside them every day. As a chess player and trainer, I have become an adviser to the Minister of Sports in my state. However, I find it puzzling why some people choose to be negative in public online . I was raised to believe that being kind is the ultimate goal. Good luck, my chess friend!

I’m not disregarding your chess coaching ability whatsoever. Just puzzled why you chose to advertise that specific resting increase

very wrong, lichess median player is much stronger than chess.com median, I have around 1900-2000 rapid elo on lichess and on chess.com 1800.

Why don’t you do this here, at chesscom?
Quite_Playable_1

Yay, I am back to 1900 bullet again. After long hours and hours of playing.

Quite_Playable_1

Why is it 1900 is top 99% percentile. Isn't too low. Can somebody explain.

Quite_Playable_1

Whew, I need a break I played like day 1- 10hours. Day 2-15 hours. Day 3-11 hours.. Day4- 14 hours Etc.
