I don't have an aswer to that because I don't play the Alapin, but I suggest that you go through a couple of grandmaster games and see what they play. From there you can find some ideas and patterns for the middlegame. You can search games by the opening on chessgames.com for example. :)

I have been playing the Alapin as white in response to 1...c5 and whilst I come out of the opening pretty well I am often losing these games. Any good suggestions on resources for middle game ideas?
