So, a little background info.
I learnt the basic rules of chess as a kid, but never really played any until my mid-teens. Then, i played maybe 5-10 games - then no games at all for a couple of years and then i'd play a couple of games again followed by no games at all for years again. Basically, i just played a relative, very sporadically . Enjoyed the game of chess, but on a very beginner type level.
Now, at the age of 36, i started playing again just 2 months ago - but this time i was deeply hooked and fell madly in love with the game of chess when i started to actually try to get a deeper understanding of the game.
Now, theese two months has been a minimum of 4-6 hours of chess every day here and on other sites (im lucky enough to be able to set that much time aside to playing chess, doing online lessons, YT tutorials etc every day). However, all theese hours has soley been online, due to the fact that I have no one to play with OTB. Until a week ago - I found that there was a small chess club in the little town i live in.
My first visit to the chess club - i was mad uncomfortable trying to play OTB. Blundered pieces and missed tactics. This came as no surprise as I understood that this might be the case. So now i've bought a chessboard, just so that I could do daily puzzles on the physical board and mirroring the games OTB while playing online just to get used to playing OTB.
The club i joined is very small and they just play once a week for about 2 hours - which means that only about 5% of my games would be OTB on a weekly basis.
Is there anything else I could do to get used to playing OTB? Other than playing OTB mirroring my online games and doing daily puzzles OTB? Trying to play OTB simultaneously as playing online, is hella time consuming in-game and feels, pretty sub-optimal, yet... i cant see any other solution and, i suppose its my only option?
Im grateful for any/all advice.
Sorry for wall of text.
Cheers
