I'm new to this site, too. Fell into a first 10 minute game and found it just too fast and ran out of time. Is there anywhere I can play other people for say a 30 or 60 minute game? Looking for other newbies to play with. How do we go about it?

if you look carefully at the options, there are 30 and 60 minute options on this site when you go to play PDC

Yeah, 10 minute per side is just too fast for an improving player. If you wish to better your game, you need to think about position a bit more. The system will pair you with someone close to your rating, +/- 200 rating points are default, I believe, but you can go to settings - live chess and set any rating difference you want.
