HI guys! For all those who don’t know how to open a game of chess, this article is for you. One of black’s common responses to 1. E4, are the French, the caro-kann and the Sicilian. The best way to play against the French would be to do (for white) , , and . instead of taking the pawn on d5, we push our e-pawn one square forward. Against the Caro, I would also not take the pawn in the defense. Instead I would do this, ,, , 2,d5, 3., e5, not exd5. Against the Sicilian it would go like this: , 1. C5, 2. C3, 2.Nc6, and 3. D4. This is the alapin-sicilian variation and I hope this works.
