Always carefully check your intended move is no blunder before you play it. This alone will propel you way above 1000.

1.) Take your time to make sure that you aren't moving your pieces to a spot where they can be captured unless it is part of a tactic.

2.) Pay just as much attention to way your opponent may have made the move that they made.

3.)Make sure your king is safe before considering other moves.

4.)Go over your losses first by yourself and then with the chess.com analysis feature and see if you are making the same types of mistakes over And over again.

5.) Practice tactics frequently.
