The first lesson is how the pieces move, and how much they are worth. So a pawn is worth one point. The bishop is worth 3, the knight is worth 3, the rook is worth 5, the queen is worth 9, and the king is worth the game. So the pawn moves one square, except on the first move, where it can move two squares. The bishop move in a diagonal, The knight moves in a L shape,The rook moves straight, the queen has the powers of a bishop and a rook, and the king moves one square in each direction. That was our first lesson.

The chess game is split into 3 halves: a beginning, a middle, and a end. Not all chess games reach the endgame. Most of the time you checkmate your opponent in the middle game, or the opening. The main goal of the end game is to promote your pawns, or checkmate the other king.

Avoid blundering pieces

I think beginners should try more blitz games so that they won't feel bored

Beginners might blunder too much in blitz games. Rapid games and games without a clock would be the best ones for beginners
