As a sub 1000 relative newbie is it worthwhile joining one of the Chess.com online clubs, or do they only cater for decent players?

I know I'd probably be beaten more than not and my rating will drop as a result, but I figure that it would be better to focus on playing more games and let the rating take care of itself, hopefully going back up when (or if) I improve.

Appreciate any input.

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I'm a chess coach based in California.  I encourage you to join a chess.com online chess club.

If I was in your shoes, this is what my mindset would be:

1) Let's have fun

2) Don't worry about my rating

3) If I play people who are slightly better than me, that would be a great challenge!  If I lose, then I'll learn from my mistakes.

Thanks Lauren.  Wasn't sure if it was just for decent established players or not, appreciate the input.

Hi
It’s worth joining a good club, you get to join in team matches, vote chess which is a team effort and even set games and tournaments, plus you’ll meet others in your rating range to friend and practice with. I’m in the starter range and enjoy being a member of a couple of clubs
