Is it okay to lie if it will make someone feel better? Yes, often yes. 

Is it okay for chess.com to lie to you about your game rating in order to make you feel better? No, I want to say a hard no. 

Is it okay to lie about the size of shoes in your listing? Most would say no, but is it okay to lie about the lumens in your flashlight if everyone else is lying? Most would say no, but it must be okay to exaggerate since everyone else is exaggerating.

I can prove the "game rating" provided in the "game review" is patronizing. It's not calculated based on how you played.
