Defensive fort - wait and hold the line

Hello. In other games i have played i have liked to build Great defences. For example in Starcraft with siege tanks and bunkers. What is the best way to do this in chess? My strategy will be to build a fort and wait until he attacks or run out off time. Wich rating will i get?

You Don't. You'll get a passive position and your opponent will get better space, as well as having flexible pawn breaks so you don't know what to expect. Your opponent will get powerful attacking opportunities, active piece play, and a comfortable space advantage while you will have to just shuffle your pieces around in a passive position in which you can't do anything about. A single well- calculated attack can send your position, and your game, into a tailspin VERY quickly. How do you expect to win if you can't even check your opponent? A good defense is a strong offense. Chess isn't a computer game. Play aggressively and do tactics.

You don't win a chess game by playing safe moves.

You win it by playing good moves.

Fianchetto lines can be considered Fortified King Positions

You can always try the Hippo, but you have to know what you're doing.

Lol you are the people I laugh at and lately just quit the game. Playing with limited time and you guys memorize and opening pre click 7 moves to castle, barricade in with 5 or 6 pieces then just shuffle pieces at 100 millisecond pre moves to run the clock

What are you even doing? Why play the game? You aren’t doing anything but copy and pasting a move list

Imagine I said I was an author and instead of writing a book I just copy and pasted someone else’s and now I’m telling people I write. This is the same vibe as “ what’s the best set of moves I can copy and paste and pre clock to barricade in?@

You would probably like the London system.
