Fear of losing

I've been in your situation before. What's helping me to gradually overcome my fear is setting a limit for losing streaks. Say I've lost like 3 or 4 games in a row. There's a good chance I'm not feeling at my a-game at the moment due to gradual tilt so I stop and give it another go later or tomorrow. This practice helps me not only to prevent big rating loss but also prevent me from tilting to point that I just move and don't think. Hope this helps.

I know it. But I didn't play for a month, spending my time on other site. then I started to play reaching 1091 from 900 in 10 days. I tought my ELO was understimate because I study everyday. But now down to 1055. I'll keep on playing

It's like a CASINO. If I go down I try to come back, but my goal is to increase my points everyday and learning everyday. Thank you
Yea, I had that fear too. After you reach your peak rating, you just wanna be around that rating. But, you have to overcome that and learn from your mistakes rather than not playing because you fear that you will lose.

Chess is not for the faint hearted.
Another good one
I am Not Afraid Anymore
go on a losing streak.. lose one after another till you have nothing left to lose.
you will eventually realize that you actually didnt lose anything in real but survived your worst fear

Good lessons!!! Today I reached my best score, but it doesn't matter. I learned learned learned :blush :blush :blush

If a board-game causes you emotional distress, you might be taking the game too seriously. Unless you're a professional player, chess is just for fun and exercise, and has no ultimate importantance whatsoever. So enjoy yourself, and ignore the stinging sensation you feel when you lose -- it's just your imaginary ego.

Fair to a point, if you don’t hate losing and are just out here moving cyber pieces around a board with no focus then maybe that’s why one loses. Yes don’t go overboard but if you like to compete and match wits in a battle it sucks to lose

Lel I am on serious tilt blitz and rapid... going almost below 1400 rapid from 1500+ and 1300 less blitz from 1450s
