Game Drawn Due To Insufficient Material?

I just got a draw due to “insufficient material”, but my opponent had a King and a Queen, and I had only a queen. The game ended because he ran out of time, and I had 38 seconds left. Yet, Chess.com ruled it a draw “Due to insufficient material”... I’m pretty sure you can checkmate with a king and queen, right? Why is it a draw? He ran out of time, yet is getting rewarded with a draw for doing so. Shouldn’t I get the win in this scenario?

If you don't have enough material to checkmate your opponent, you will get a draw if your opponent runs out of time. If you had run out of time, he would have won as he could have delivered checkmate. The rule is such that when your opponent runs out of time you get the best possible result you could get with your remaining material. With a lone king that is a draw, if you had one pawn left you would have won (as you could promote it).
