Chess Beatdowns, it's a games collection book of NON-master games, explained in an easy-to-follow format with plenty of diagrams.

Hello!

I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces”   and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” for beginners.

Both books are available on Amazon.com.  Both books are endorsed by chess masters!

The best book for a beginner it the one (s)he surely read / study… All the others are dustcollectors on the shelf.

There is very little that any book can teach you that you can't find for free either here or on other sites.  The lessons, videos and puzzles here are good and you can find Grandmasters giving free advice on youtube.  You can find free courses on chessable.com
