how come I can beat the intermediate bots but I can’t get past 400

This is because bots play differently than human players and one reason I don't like playing bots much. I think it is okay every now and then, but I don't advise people to continuously play bots without playing human players because of this inconsistency you noted.
The main difference is that human players make plans and their moves typically follow through with those ideas - whether flawed or not. Whereas the bots (especially lower rated bots) tend to play a few moves and then arbitrarily play a move inconsistent with the previous plan. This may or may not be a terrible thing, but it is a difference. When playing human players, you'll have to assess what they are trying to do and if it is something you need to be worried about.

How many loses per wins for intermediate bots? If it’s like 10 to 1, 300 is pretty much how elo works. There is a formula to calculate the winning probability from elo but I need to Google it…

The math is actually really complicated, but there are online calculators for this based on information you type in.

1. Do 40 tactics every day and try to get 60% of them right. Not at one run, do 20 tactics, take a 1 to 2 hour break tgen more 20 tactics. 2. Play only two games daily, analyse them and try to understand and dont repeat those mistakes. 3. Study all three phases of the game equally, if you only focus on opening it wont help much, you must learn midgame strategies and endgame.

You should learn most important principles of a chess game. That will give you a solid understanding of a chess game and you will know what to do in every position. Then, you should optimize your calculation so you don't miss tactics in your games. Your rating will skyrocket. I can help you with all of this. Message me if you are interested.

Per this Wiki, the formula is
prob = 1/(1+10^(Diff of elo / 400))
if this is too complicated, it also mentions that the winning probability is 64% if elo is higher by 100, and 76% (that is, 3 to 1) if 200.

@jimlargon that is a useful formula, but a simplified one. The "complicated" one I remember also involves the k-factor (value indicating how active the player has been lately as rating will swing more if they are inactive) and some other statistical details I only followed in concept, but in math had no idea lol

@kesetokaiba cool! But any way, beating a 1500 ELO does not guarantee an ELO near 1500, for sure…
Did I ever say it did? I win and lose to all kinds of ratings, but that doesn't make me that rating xD

Opponents can think, but bots really can't. The bots are limited to a certain amount of moves.
The other reason is due to bad ratings for the bots. Yesterday, I beat a 1700, while at 600.
I can play you if you want, though.

The reason for this is probably because bots for playing are programmed to make a mistake at some point. Even I can do this and the main thing I notice about the intermediate bots is that they seem to be very materialistic which makes them decide to get mated rather than lose all their material.

I did this equation and if you were exactly 600, your propability of Beating nelson would be 1.747209149%
