How do I balance time with checking for blunders?

I mainly play 10 minute rapid, and it's nice to be able to check for blunders, but I observe that I'm usually down a minute or two when I spend time noticing blunders.

How do I speed up the blunder checking process so that I don't blunder in the fear of being flagged?

Also please don't suggest "play 15|10 or 30 minute" I am aware a higher time control will give me more time to check for blunders. I'm just looking for an alternative, dynamic checklist that I can quickly go through every move to check for blunders.

What I'm currently doing is checking every capture possible, and checking every recapture if so. Is there a more efficient way to check for blunders? Like selectively checking a few pieces every move? What if I risk a discovered attack that i wouldn't notice with selective checking?

Either play longer time controls or think faster.
