how do I find someone to play online?

I am new to online chess and have played only a handful of games call me. How do I find someone to play an online game?

It depends on whether you are using the website or one of the apps but basically all you have to do is.

  • Find the Play button.
  • Click it.
  • Then pick a time control

Make sure you use the rating controls under custom. It’s generally recommended to adjust plus and minus 100 ELO points for your matches if you want to challenge and learn.
