How do you become a better player?
Whenever I start working with a new student who is stuck at a plateau, 9 times out of 10 they are playing 20 blitz games a day and doing zero deep analysis of their losses. Swap to playing just 2 rapid games a day, but spend 15 minutes analyzing each game on your own before checking the engine. Your rating will thank you.
To become a better player: Do not be me. I always play without pressure and goals, for me chess is an adventure. But playing like that can also mean: no real progress (which I'm fine with). I just can't play chess in a different way, or I will burn out and get depressed again.
Today I feel more inspired than usual, winning most games feeling a bit brighter (for my level). Watching a GothamChess video trying to implement stuff in my games, today it partly works, yesterday I had my insane phase where I can't see anything on the board that treatens me.
If only I could always be like that I could be back to 762 rapid like I was in my first account, and slightly below 500 blitz. But my mentality is highly inconsistent.

Give yourself a break! You only joined in January, and you've done 8 puzzles. First, do a lot more puzzles. Second, pick a strong player from the past (Morphy) and play over a lot of his games, trying to see the pattern and flow of his play. Every few moves, pause and try to guess the best move before playing it. Third, review your games and look for blunders, hanging pieces, etc. There will be a LOT on both sides. Finally, be patient. You may have to see the same checkmate pattern 10 or more times before you know it well enough to spring it in your own games. Remember, chess is a journey, not a destination.
I will tell u the secret to become a better chess player, play one simple opening only, and master it. Thats how you learn and improve chess. When you play one opening, you will start to understand the fundamentals of chess without bothering remembering theory. Something simple like kings indian, london, french, caro kann.
Watching Danya videos helps too, just dont buy courses or books, dont waste ur money on resources when they are available for free

simple? King’s Indian is one of the most difficult and complicated variations of opening theory.
That, and I wouldn't say the French is simple either. I don't even understand how to play 1 opening? Let's say I want to play 1.e4, but I'm black?
