Hi Sean. Are you interested in video ideas? Something I'd like to understand better is trading off your opponents good pieces preferably for your bad pieces. I'm aware of good and bad bishops but I presume there are many other examples. It would be helpful to see examples of good and bad pieces in different positions. I imagine this might interest advanced beginners. Often the GM will explain a position and comment that a piece is bad but not explain why. Sometimes it is obviously trapped, othertimes the reason appears more subtle. What I'd like to be able to do is look at a position and identify the good and bad pieces (if they exist). Something that helps this would be great.

I am very interested in video ideas! I will definitely attempt to make a video that would be of that topic!

Hey Mark, I made a video dedicated towards this very question. That's why I have my show called the #askachessmaster show where you ask your questions and I answer them.

When to Exchange Pieces in Chess!

Hi Sean. Thank you so much. It was really good of you to take the time. The video is exactly the explanation I've been looking for. The ideas and analysis you demonstrated is definitely what I need to work on to improve my chess. Your comment in the first example on trading off the backward pawn for the opponents better centre pawn is the sort of thing that wouldn't occur to me until now. The potential of the piece in the position, and conversion of advantages. Great!Your explanations were very clear and simple. I appreciate it.

I can only analyze ONE game per day because I have a basic account. I am a kid, and my parents do not want to spend money.

You can just download some free engines, like stockfish and arena GUI

if you’re too lazy like me just download something like small fish on your phone
