I would recommend you to read Jeremy Silman books and Saint Louis Chess Club youtube videos. Both of them are Amazing.

i started to play chess over a year ago. at the beginning i had 700, but now my rating is 1400.
last week i was on my first real competition. i played with few monsters and some kids. i ended with 4/7 ratio.
i want to join a city-team and practice with them. can You tell me guys, what to do to begin this (monster).
i love poncianni, scotch, petroff def and sicilian. do you have some good videos or books to teach?
maybe in future i will buy bronstein's book.
