Oh no! 😟 You're having trouble reaching 1000 elo? That's okay, it's not easy. You're doing puzzles every day, which is great! 👍 Maybe you can try playing slower in your games, that might help. But don't worry too much about the engine saying you made mistakes, just keep practicing and having fun! 🤗🎉
How to breach 1000 elo?

Keep playing, it takes a lot of time for the brain to adjust to chess. It will click, it just takes a lot of time and effort. =)

which you can also tell by me accidentally sending that last post. I was intending to ask for the usual time frame for reaching 1000 elo, as I've been at this for nearly two years now, and I feel like it's just out of reach.

Oh no! 😢 Don't worry, practice makes perfect! 😊 Keep playing and having fun, and you'll get better and better! 🎉 It might take some time, but you'll get there! ⏰👍

Work on your tactics. Solve a lot of tactic puzzles. Try to reach at least 1600. Play lots of bullet games. The goal isn't to win, but to be able to last the game up to the last second in 1 min games. Try it. It worked for me.

That's maybe a good thing - you have a consistent level of experience and you're not dropping rank. Maybe a bit of a break to study openings/tactics would do you good? Also, I like to think of things in terms of 'net games'. E.g. if you want to get to 1000 from your current ranking (around 970), you only need to win 4 or 5 games net.
Also, the gradient of your rapid ranking is positive - it looks like if you keep doing what you're doing you'll creep over 1000 in the near future.

I can teach you EXACTLY how to think during the game (opening, middlegame and endgame). Your chess understanding will never be the same and you will improve a lot. I charge $10/h, but if you can’t afford too many lessons, don’t worry. I can teach you a lot in an hour. Here to help if you are interested.
If you want to study by yourself, read ‘Logical Chess’. It is really instructive book. You have it on youtube as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eTB7oHeRgM&list=PLUrgfsyInqNa1S4i8DsGJwzx1Uhn2AqlT

I looked at a few games. I notice you frequently attack before completing development. Try to get all your knights and bishops off the back rank and castled before you attack.

I was asking the same question a few weeks ago.
Slow down your game, learn a couple of openings and then practice.
Don't get sucked into playing speed chess.

#1 yeah, it always seems like the good games are the ones where we played the worst
#4 advertising is stupid
#9.... play bullet?
and the goal ISNT to play good?
sorry, someone here is asking for how to be good at chess, you cant just say "dont"
#11 i agree and without any notice my rating has crept from around 1000 to around 1050 without any (i think) actual focus put in
and honestly, 970 and 1000 are no different
a 970 would defeat a 1000 a lot in games, and even a slight improvement (time control, thinking longer, just one or two principles) can push someone from one to the other
30 rating points becomes more and more of a big deal the higher you go, but here its fine
hi im willing to be your perrsonal trainer help you reach 1200
play games with you point out your mistakes learn and distil knowledge for you in bigenner language you can hit up and well talk.

Chess game analysis is a great way to get better since I’ll identify the good and bad moves you made. Send me your games and I'll be happy to analyze the game for free on my YouTube channel livestream. Ask me questions in real time! I livestream on Monday evenings (PST) , Wednesday evenings around 7:30pm PST, and Friday afternoons (PST). I look forward to your games!
This is a great way to improve!

No one said the goal isn't to play good. Bullet helps in identifying where you are slow at. It's not about depth but about enhancing your reflex.
3 pieces of advice I can give you that will surely help you break 1000 over the next few months:
1. Watch John Bartholomew’s “Chess Fundamentals” and “Climbing the Rating Ladder” video series on YouTube. He is an international master who is great at clearly explaining his thought process and will play lower rated players for educational purposes.
2. Study basic opening theory (e4 e5, d4 d5, etc). Don’t go crazy here. To break 1000 you don’t need to know very much theory but it’s very useful to understand the basic concepts in common openings. Pick one opening to use with white and stick with it (I recommend Italian game for your level)
3. Do not play any games faster than 10 minute time control, and only play games with increment. Even if you play fewer games at this increment, they will be much higher quality and you will learn much more.
I don’t think puzzles/tactics are particularly important below 1200 because often if you have good fundamentals your opponents will blunder the game away for you. Most importantly, have fun! Focus on the chess, not the rating. If you play good chess the rating will take care of itself. Good luck!

Your "analysis" is very weak. In your analysis when players make passive "nothing" moves and wasting time you just saying nothing about it like it's not a mistake. Either your analysis is weak or you don't understand the concept of time at chess at all yourself (which is more likely). You can't skip these things because that's the basic concept of chess.
You should do something about it otherwise your "analysis" doesn't even worth a dime.
Then again, the analysis by Lauren was offered for FREE. You would not need to spend your precious dime on it.
Even if the analysis is not perfect it could still be helpful for beginners.
as the title suggests, I am having trouble with reaching 1000 elo. I don't quite know what I'm doing wrong; I do my daily puzzles, but it feels like it's very hard to reach 1000 elo. I have been trying to make myself slow down in games, but even in games where I play very slowly(especially in those games) the engine still says I made like a hundred mistakes and ten blunders (exaggeration, but premise applies), and counter intuitively my accuracy in games seems to have dropped from when I was 400-500 elo, or maybe that's just my faulty memory.
So, question: What am I doing wrong?
