I won in 16 moves because i did some pretty cool things.

1. Brought my rooks to the middle

always do this if you want an early win because it provides sort of some protection for your queen and king. It also helps for the endgame.

2. Push your middle pawns up

i know it seems sus, but its true. Push your middle pawns up and even better, sacrifice them. It provides space for an early endgame.

these tips helped me and i hope it helps you as well. Good luck pushing for an early endgame!

These are certainly good tips for beating players at your level, and I think that you can use them to improve a great deal!  Good luck.  Keep playing and practicing! happy.png

Of course!  As you gain rating, you will notice that you learn different tactics to beat players at that level.  What you describe here is a good example of gaining control of the center, which is one thing that you do want to do in the first phase of the game.

i don't think bringing rooks in middle game is a good idea. i only use rooks during endgame. if you bring the rook in the middle game it might get captured/ exchanged

true but in some games bringing it in the middle works because bishops target my rooks at the corner

I try to get my rooks involved as early as possible, with the idea of improving my worst piece. They're often not as vulnerable as it seems. A quick calculation will determine whether they can be easily attacked, and often a few minor pieces have been traded by the time they get into the game so there's less material to push them around.

Common sense is to develop into play in order of decreasing worth and power: first 2 pawns, then 2 knights, then 2 bishops, then castle to connect the rooks and bring them to open files, last but not least the queen. The reason is clear: the piece that is worth more has to flee when attacked by a piece that is worth less.

Combine this with studies of pawn breaks. For me I bring the rooks early to the center files when I can see I will easily open the game.
