How to get better

Play long time controls and do a blunder check befour everymove....if only i could listen to my own advice

Check out John Bartholomew's chess fundamentals and his original and best climbing the ratings ladder video. He explains his thinking calmly and clearly as he plays. Highly recommended. Do as many puzzles as possible, (you do start to see the benefits after a while.) That alone should get you over 1000.

Think I’m stuck at 1000 for 3 minutes, Think I’m losing at the moment due to time. I think the difference from 800 to 1000 in 3 minute blitz was playing moves which do something, just one thing a good move, connecting rooks, developing pieces or improving the position. I’m still to slow hoping to learn some positional chess so I can move quicker in faster time controls.
In 3 minute blitz I think the 1000 rated players I lose to just pick targets and continue to attack them, a move at a time, I’ve been losing too much time and it’s a heart attack to continue attacking for myself in blitz chess, hoping learning more about positional chess will allow more to play more natural in these controls. All 1000 players are doing is playing a one good move at a time that does one thing, and they continue to do that throughout the game.
A rating of 800 is a sign of frequent blunders.
Always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it.
Hang no pieces, hang no pawns and you are 1500 overnight.
