how to get good at romantic chess?

Sacrificial, attacking play should work great at your level! Why not try some gambits? Giving up a pawn or two to get your pieces out and get a fast attack is fun, and I bet your tactical vision will improve. King's Gambit is a wonderful choice, and you'll get to play it pretty often after 1. e4 e5.
One suggestion is don't just sac pieces or pawns for no reason. You should get something in return. Try to know what you're getting before you give up any material. Maybe you get your pieces out faster, or force enemy king to move (losing right to castle), or cause opponent to put their pieces on ridiculous squares. If you've got a knock-out checkmate on the way, Great! Go for it. But if not, then try to have some sort of reason for giving up material. Other than that, keep working on your tactics puzzles, and practice, practice, practice.

I don't think a player can really be good if they just cultivate one style of play. So when you ask "how do I get good...?" and then you say "I hate positional chess" it's kind of like, well... I think you've discarded the answer to your question. Or at least a very large part of the answer.
With 1. e4 there are alot of risky lines you can play against blacks various setups, but there will be times you can't reach those lines and you have to know how to play positionally. As the game progresses, the followup to your gambit in securing the win will often be to play positionally. A successful attack doesn't always result in checkmate, it may just lead to being up a single pawn. And to set up opportunities for good tactics you have to know how to play positionally as well. Especially at your level when you don't have a very deep repertoire you're gonna have to understand and rely on chess principles, which are often the positional principles.
If you find some large aspect of chess boring then you might not get much better at it.

Got it. Never make sacrifices without a good reason. And work on tactics and stuff. That way I’ll go through weak positions like a buzz saw, muahahahahah!!!
@ibrust
(This is a joke)
“I really think you should consider positional things for defense and stuff…”
*punches him in the face*
I’m sorry! I didn’t hear you over my being romantic and aggressive! My mom didn’t raise no bitch. We go for big moves and awesome gambits, not sissy things like “defense, and positioning”.
(Joke done)
But, I understand. I do have a modicum of defense and positioning to ensure I don’t hang pieces and such. It’s just feels like I’m in a stagnant position if I go too position oriented.
It’s all practice and stuff in the end.
Thank you for the replies.

@feranard (This is also a joke)
feranard: *punches him in the face*
random stranger who feranard just punched: *pulls out a knife from within his jacket and stabs feranard with it, runs off*
Haha, haaa....
(Joke done)
EDIT: what a strange coincidence that I notice you have a random person wielding a knife as your avatar.

I’m annoyed by the fact that you didn’t continue the conversation about chess but I acknowledge I didn’t really leave the conversation open.
Also, I acknowledge that I screwed up by mocking you and when you gave me sincere and well-intentioned advice. As such,
My apologies for my inappropriate conduct.
As for what I really wanted to say underneath all the bluster and such:
I don’t really want to commit so much to chess as to really get good. 1000 elo would be the absolute peak for me, and even then I don’t know if I want to put in the time and energy and study for that.
I just really like attacking and tactical play and being a reckless romantic. I don’t like I’m having fun playing chess unless I’m doing something really risky and tactical.
I’m far more light-hearted and less disciplined than most players on this website.
Nevertheless, I thank you for the advice you gave me regarding positional play. While my aspirations are not that high, it is nice to be informed of that avenue of improvement.

The Danish Gambit

@EwingKlipspringer
Totally. Just sack sack sack. Burn pieces and pawns for temple. Just to get that much closer to their king.
@GavinTheKing668
Will need to explore this gambit. See if it’s simple enough for me to enjoy it.

When I reached that level, I played boring positional chess with defense that was so so darn stagnated.
I hated it.
I loved just blitzing people with reckless moves, sacrificing pieces with mad abandon just to mess with the other guy.
It’s the only way I have fun playing chess.
So, how do I get better at this? I honestly don’t know if I care about winning, though I’d like to get my rapid rating up to 1000 for some strange reason (maybe I’m just chasing rating…I don’t know.)
