You can technically triple check if you have a knight directly in the path of both your bishop and rook and their king. Move the knight into a check that reveals the other two checks.

which is impossible (presumably why you wrote technically)

I know how to double check...

@bigD521 yes it is impossible, but I didn’t realize that until after I posted lol. The bishop’s and rook’s lines would never intersect before checking the king

In xiangqi, the knight's movement is restricted by a piece placed in front of it in the direction that it wants to move to. If that was the case in chess, a triple check would be possible if e8=N+++ was played in the following position.

Initially I thought you can't triple check in chess, but then I triple checked my conclusion and found out that it is false.

This is impossible in this position because before the promotion, the black king is already in check.

Did you not read what he wrote? He was talking about xiangqi rules, where the knight would not check the king because the pawn was in the way.

It IS possible, only in duck chess tho. do a double check and then move the duck to reveal ANOTHER check

Triple check is impossible but a double check is possible by delivering a discovered check and simultaneously checking with the piece that has moved.

Interesting but not applicable to this discussion.

OK., guys, let's move on and get serious about "real Chess". Good. Now was that hard? I mean, really? In my Chess club, anybody talking about "triple check" would be fined. End of story-mic drop.

It's impossible because you can't capture the king
