I was watching an episode of perpetual chess regarding Neimann in which they had a foremost chess statistician show the science behind rating drops/curves etc and basically demonstrating Neimann fits within the norm once you adjust for rating freezes during 2020. Anyway, one of the things he looked at was the rating drop when you remove time from a player. The average GM loses about 700 points during blitz and the longer they play blitz, so let's say, 6 hours off it, the higher this drop gets. So you should not be surprised with more time, you do better.

Greetings Mr AerryCris : )

I hope you are still here and not left the site and please help me here.

To day i visited Chess.com on the www using this address/link : chess.com/leaderboard?/live?.

I clicked on the buttons that said : BLITZ ans GLOBAL.

The list for blitz-raiting on the site has 10 000 pages and are listing up 500 000 players that are members of Chess.com under the "banner" : BLITZ and GLOBAL.

The first approximately 3000 players have a rating OWER 2500.

Then you will finde approximatly 170 000 players having a rating OWER 1600.

And since the list ends at the player ranked as nr 500 000 we know that there

are appoximatly 330 000 players between 1200 and up to 1600 ratingpoints.

We also know that Chess.com have 100 000 000 million members TOTALY.

What is my need? Can some caring loving players help me out here?

Weeeel........

What is BLITZ?

As i understands it there are 2-to-types :

Type nr 1 : 3 min pr player and NO additional time pr move.

(There will then ONLY be 6 min TOTAL on the game. (" When the time is up, its up")

Type nr 2 : 3 min pr player WITH additional time pr move.

So what am i asking fore here then?

When i look at the site (the add/link ower) under BLITZ and GLOBAL :

IT DOES NOT SAY WHAT KINDE OF BLITZ IT IS.

So my question is this : What type of BLITZ is it?

Is it type 1 ore type 2.

Ore is it a amalgamation of the 2-to-types?

I realy hope to gett help here.

Regards from a little Chicken : )

There are 3 types of blitz on this site. 3 minute, 5 minute, and 3-2.

It my seems to me Sir that you did not understand my questions complete.

Under the leaderboard/live, as you can read above it says clearly (if you have used the link at Chess.com) :

BLITZ and GLOBAL. (Standings/ratingpoints)

So fare so good.

Butt what kinde (type)of BLITZ are they talking about in that leaderbord/livelink ?

In Blitz and Rapid you can select games with playing times like 30!10. I understand this means a 30 minute game with 10 seconds per move. If you move faster 10 seconds then the remaining seconds are added to the game clock. So if you played your first move in 2 seconds an additional 8 seconds would be added onto your game clock. Is this correct? I think I want to play rapid games but want to understand the rules first. Is there a link I have missed that explains this?

Blitz and rapid are different games, requiring different skills and with different ratings.
Some people are better at one, some are better at the other.
Different athletes excel at 1500 m and at 10,000 m running.

I would assume so. And so what? Unless they sandbag it takes 10 or so games to find their bracket.

Relatively normal g you don't play much blitz

The blitz players typically have higher blitz ratings than rapid especially at higher levels like 2000+ blitz

Like my rapid is 2100 and blitz chess is 2200 (bullet 2100) I mostly try to keep even in most time controls besides blitz cause I need to have the right tempt of moves (it makes your opponents blunder more sometimes if you play fast but not too fast ) so bullet is good for that you also should play some rapid so your chess doesn't go entirely dumb but blitz is good enough for faster thinkers while slower thinkers need rapid

Basically bullet=time management

Blitz=intuition and fast thinking (realy good for endgames and openings )

Rapid =better thinking
