I had the same problem A good advise is to stick with 1 trap or opening which you know all of its variations
I feel like i'll never be able to improve.

It is awful advice. It is impossible to know all the variations of an opening, unless you are a grandmaster and spend years working on it.

Yo, I saw your post on Reddit and I just wanted to say that just because your Elo is falling doesn't mean you aren't improving. That's just your brain assimilating other concepts so they can eventually be more effectively integrated into play. Just keep at it, and actively seek to extinguish your bad habits while you're playing.

"I study my games" ++ Good, especially your lost games.
"do puzzles every day" ++ Good, but not essential.
"watch videos" ++ Not useful.
"and courses" ++ Not very useful.
"i still make the same mistakes" ++ That is your problem. Analyse your lost games more thoroughly, preferably right after playing. Go in detail about what you were thinking and what made you play your mistake. So you will remember your mistake and avoid it in the future.

You should learn most important principles of a chess game. That will give you a solid understanding of a chess game and you will know what to do in every position. Then, you should optimize your calculation so you don't miss tactics in your games. Your rating will skyrocket. I can help you with all of this. Message me if you are interested.

I reached 1000 a rating a while ago on Lichess. I fell down to around the 940 to range and i've been stuck there since. I study my games, do puzzles every day, watch videos and courses, but i still make the same mistakes and can't seem to improve. I'm just falling down the rating ladder. Any tipy to fix this?
