I need to start playing with a clock.

So recently a coworker showed interest in chess. I told him to download this app and I’d play him. He set up the first game with a 30 minute limit. I get anxiety when I see the clock tick down and don’t waste any time making a move. I was leaving pieces out to dry left and right. He won the first two games. Then he set one up with a 3 day limit per move (we travel for work and put in long hours when working in the field). I’ve won every game since then.

Does anyone else get anxious when playing with a clock? I know the solution is to hunker down and just start playing timed games and I’ll get over whatever problems I’m having.

Well, there's a lot more to it than just hunkering down. But experience is certainly important.

I believe you would have found the best move if this were a puzzle.

I don't get anxious, but I play usually 60 minute games and have never once in hundreds of games so far came close to time trouble. I don't use the time properly or fully and don't really know how to change that.
