I really feel that I am improving.
Just build on it. Although it does get annoying when you pass your peak rating and then lose 100 points out of nowhere just to get them back.
Or your opponent is messing up.
Or...both? Have you seen my rating?
Way to support new players in the beginners forum.
Very nice game. Re previous poster, note that if your opponent doesn't mess up, you won't win. But also, there is something to learn from 9.f5?.
9. f5 ????
You can learn losing material (axb4) or en passant (exf6)?
What do you even mean?

What suggestions do you have about 9. f5?

After 9.f5, Black has ...dxe4. The engine likes 9.e5 and Black has either passive Bishops or has to go for ...f6. You can take on f6 and try to create an isolated black Pawn in the center.
I find it really hard to resist the urge to push Pawns like 9.f5 and very often mess up. In this game, it was your one single real mistake. Considering you level, you might want to study some central Pawn structures. (Maybe you're already doing that, I haven't looked at your other games

To be fair, I do tend to push around pieces a little bit too aggressively and needs to work on building a pawn structure.

@PawnsAdvantage I was referring to the OP's game, of course, which the thread is about.
That's why it caught me off guard when you typed, "Very nice game. Re previous poster, note that if your opponent doesn't mess up, you won't win. But also, there is something to learn from 9.f5?."
You stated previous poster which was me, not the OP (original poster).
Yes, you, the previous poster, stated that the OP won because the opponent messed up. I wanted to point out that this is the only reason why anyone has ever won a game of chess.

At least you are using what appears to be a second language. I can only count in German and appreciate German beer.
My comment about messing up was not in context of winning or losing. It was in context to the title of the thread using the word "improving".
It was not meant as an insult, but more of a reality check. I run into the same thing. I play what I thought was a good game, got the win, but then when I go through it with an engine I realize actually I messed up and it was my opponent who messed up more. That is the only reason why I won. This is different than what you are saying.
For my development, I don't want to pat myself on the back if my opponent missed a move like 12...gxf5. When I play someone stronger, that win will be immaterial to my progress in chess.
On the other hand, if I always make a move and my opponent punishes me for it, and I spot it next time it comes up then that is something to be proud of win or lose. My whole point in short is improvement can be from understanding something from one move, not the end result that you won.
I hope you can discern this difference in English, and I commend you for your proficiency.
I wasn't trying to suggest that I played flawlessly, only that I play better than I did in the past, which certainly is true.

Yes, I wipe my butt better than I did in kindergarten. Gold stars all around.
Shut up. Let him/her be proud of his/her game.

How about this one I just played, you can scare me but you can't mate me. And I keep queens on board instead of trading at the end to mate. Yay me!!! Where's my ego cookie?
Or, you could get gud and take on d8, liek I would in a second.
