Hi,
Maybe try puzzles and tactics training etc.

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected chess coach and chess YouTuber based in California:

I have tips and resources to help you improve your chess skills so you can win more games.
-I offer a free beginner’s free eBook on my website, in case you are interested. The book is about asking questions before each move.
-Learn basic tactics such as the fork, discovered attack, pin, and more. I offer interactive puzzles on my website:
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30!
I hope that this helps.

I would recommend watching the chessbrah series "building chess habits" on youtube.

The best way to move forward with chess to purchase one where the seller does the assembly for you. I've also seen top chess player using those the most budget luxury chess hardware at many places you can get that at online shops and retails.

Hi, I'm Jessie. I am a chess coach who's USCF 1800.
Some advice. I suggest two books that really helped me to play from USCF 800 to 1500 rating.
Chess For Dummies: Eade, James: 9781119280019: Amazon.com: Books
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chess, Third Edition: Wolff, Patrick: 9781592573165: Amazon.com: Books
Practice everyday. That's how I gained 200 points a year from a USCF 800 rating to 1500.
Make sure your pieces are safe- no blundering.
