I’m new to chess

Practice. And take time to practice. So try to avoid playing anything that feels too fast for you. If you want to grow you have to give yourself enough time to think it through, otherwise you won't be able to exploit your potential.
At beginner level most games get decided either by 1. who makes the least blunders or 2. who plays the better middlegame, which involves tactics. So try out some puzzles if you want to. If that's not your thing and you're more of a studying type, that also works, but you won't get much out of it if you don't practice practice practice.

Here you go, all the tips I can give you for now:

Best of luck.
I would say definitely make sure to take advantage of lessons, puzzles, and drills and such on the site, it helps a lot for me.

play slow games and after that analyze your games on where you created the blunders and good moves. watch master games on chess.com and if you have a stronger friend at chess. ask him/her if you two could analyze it together. also solve tactics a day and play stronger players so you can learn from them. good luck and have a nice day! i hope it helps
