im not a very good player myself, but i always start with 1. e4 when playing as white. sorry i cant give much good advice tho, maybe someone else can explain a bit more.

Watch a YouTube video about it, I find the king Indian very good for white and black. So watchable video and learn the theory, and your good.
Well, just move whatever piece you want. Eventually, you’ll learn from your mistakes and those lessons will become good habits. Then you’ll find that when you deviate from what you’re used to, you’ll get in trouble.
If you get that book, you’ll see pages printed upside down. Don’t get upset. IT’S DESIGNED THAT WAY.
