Improving in Chess

Hello!

I've been playing Chess for about 2 weeks now. At around 150 - 250 rating, been losing pretty consistently today. (Mostly because I've had some drinks today)

I'm trying to improve, and since I enjoy reading I'm here to ask, does anyone happen to know any good books, articles, sites or anything I could read to "study" chess? (I know the basics from how pieces move to how checkmates work and not to hang pieces)

"I've had some drinks" ++ Do not play then.

"good books" ++ Chess Fundamentals - Capablanca

chess tactics by dave regis, dr. wolf on the app store, chess tree dot com, and then andrea botez's video on how to play chess, and then download another app called chess but it has a brown logo becayse that app had a lot of "Mate in 1-10" puzzles that might be helpful to practice with

You should start learning openings without opening you can not improve

Multiple people ended up responding which I appreciate a lot. Thank you.

I will likely be trying almost all suggestions. (Except for "do not play then" chess daniels is a playstyle, not a mistake hahaha)

IM Daniel Rensch has some helpful videos: https://www.chess.com/video/player/everything-you-need-to-know-2-the-opening There’s also a part 3. He has other great videos too.

Well then, all that remains is to stay sober.

You should learn most important principles of a chess game. That will give you a solid understanding of a chess game and you will know what to do in every position. Then, you should optimize your calculation so you don't miss tactics in your games. Your rating will skyrocket. I can help you with all of this. Message me if you are interested.
