Insights: 1/3 are Brilliant or best but 1/3 are mistakes blunders etc

You do not win games by brilliant moves, you lose games by mistakes.
Focus on your mistakes so as to avoid them in the future
and exploit similar mistakes by your future opponents.

To improve at chess, you need to practice and study consistently. Here are some tips to help you improve: 1. **Study the fundamentals**: Understand the basic principles of the game, such as controlling the center, developing your pieces, king safety, and creating plans. 2. **Practice regularly**: Play games regularly, both online and offline, to gain experience and become familiar with different types of positions. 3. **Analyse your games**: After each game, review your moves to identify errors and areas where you can improve. This will help you avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future. 4. **Study games by grandmasters**: Analyse games by top players to understand advanced strategies and tactics. There are many online resources where you can find annotated games. 5. **Solve tactical puzzles**: Practice solving tactical puzzles to improve your board vision and ability to calculate variations. 6. **Learn basic openings**: Have a few basic openings that you feel comfortable with and understand the typical plans associated with them. 7. **Participate in tournaments**: Play in local or online tournaments to gain competitive experience and test your skills against players of different levels. 8. **Stay calm**: Chess requires concentration and patience. Avoid making hasty decisions and think carefully before each move. With dedication and consistent practice, you can gradually improve and reduce the frequency of bad moves.

@Lucas60015 I will study the fundamentals. I can’t practice offline. I am using review here but I have not used the suggested drills as much as I should. I don’t know what grandmasters to study or what to look for. I haven’t been regular onbtactics puzzles since the puzzle thing on chess.com got too tough. I don’t know openings so I play daily and follow the database but I get positions that say there good for my side only I don’t know what’s going on. I started participating in open tournaments here. I have to stay calm. I just blitzed out a lot of moves against an opponent in a double double rook endgame and I should think more since I have a few days. But they kept moving and I tried to keep up. I think I made some mistakes already.
@tygxc I remember someone telling me about chess being equal. And I forgot that. It’s not about making best moves but about not making mistakes.
Thank you both!!
