So, I am like, a chess intermediate and I am wondering, is chess.com the right place for beginners? I mean, chess.com is like, 1 step higher then ChessKid.com. So, before they come to the big leagues on chess.com, should they make a temporary nest in ChessKid? Now, I cant tell a lie, and I like to play on ChessKid too, but really, is it the right place for beginners? I need some answers, so I can help. Be sur to check out my chess blog:RandomThrowOfChessDice! Thanks

Never been on chesskids.com, but i started reading here first even just when i was considering playing chess. So a proper beginner.

Yeah, have found it to be very useful. It's completely fine.

Yes, it is. But nothing can't replace real book, board and figures. 😀

Chess.com is probably the best website for beginners. The chess.com beginner community is huge, so finding a worthy opponent is pretty easy. There's better websites for late intermediate and advanced players, but nothing beats chess.com for beginners.

What do you intend to mean by "regular?" Do you mean one without time controls?

Avatar of IJELLYBEANS

@jamesross44 Presumably you have gleaned from some source or figured out yourself how to exit the blitz game mode, as one of your games indicated is rapid. If you require further assistance, howbeit, please answer the aforementioned question, for it would give forum viewers some insight into your current situation.

This is a large site that's been around for donkey's years, so there's pretty good chance that it will suit beginners as well as experts.

Yes. Chesskid.com is a lot easier than chess.com, and the best way to improve would be to challenge yourself happy.png

Beginners should use ChessKid first, then move on to Chess.com.

I think it is a good place, because it's safe, and you can play games with loads of people. The thing I don't like about chess.com is that there's just too much difference between good players and bad players, but it's good already. Better than other sites. I think it has something to compete with PlayMagnus.
