Yes its a difficult game...

Unless your smashing adults at 10yrs old... put any and all grandiose notion of becoming a GM out of your head. By then it's apparent you have some form of photographic memory.

If you have an inherent skill for the game and lack a photographic memory that means you will top out somewhere between 2200-2400.

If your normal... Meh.... apply yourself study, study the game ... ya might reach 1900-2000.

The thing to remember.... at the end of your chess career no matter what your rating is...... (unless your name is Magnus) Your games get thrown in the same pile as the armature.

If your going play the royal game....... Play for the love of it! Anything else and your wasting your time.

If you never played chess in your life, I think yes
