Making annoying blunders for no reason!?

This is my latest OTB tournament game using standard time control. Just look at my last couple of moves! I set up a trap by moving my queen, and instead of executing my intended move, i invite my opponent to make mate in one!!
I had a half an hour left on my clock, there was no time pressure at all! Why the hell did i make a blunder like that?? Its not the first time, but this is the most frustrating one. I was full of excitement of having a good position against a strong opponent, i was literary high on my emotions, which made me loose all common sense and patience. Anyone experiencing similar issues? This really hinders my ability to win games =(

one specific problem i have is when i think and calculate some lines i will often make my real move before i have “returned to the present”

and, as a consequence, i often miss some obvious responses

blunders are of two types. 1.blunder-loss moves and 2.blunder-win moves like sacrifices decoy deflection. you blundered for a reason so keep making blunders until you win.

Over confidence is something that costs many of us many games. As was said "good moves win games, not good positions".

Something I've caught myself doing quite often is assuming I'll win the game in hand then daydreaming about how I will advise my opponent how he went wrong - then in the real world I cock up.

You should try harder to make blunders that are not annoying!

This blunder cost me a prize in the tournament, and the funny thing is that after black made h3 i saw that Qg2 would be mate so i had to avoid mate by playing... g3!! I still don't know how i got into that kind of trance, i guess i just wanted to vent some frustration by creating this topic happy.png

It was a good lesson in staying focused and taking care of myself during a game to be able to remain focused.

After h3 i think you can play d5 anyway and be winning
