It's a pity the Chess.com app doesn't seem to let you highlight squares as illustrated. Presumably for the web version it works. It does look helpful, but I'm not sure of the best way to develop seeing it without that.
MATING NET! A brilliant concept to increase your rating and finish games quickly

In my experience, and I have played a LOT of games (over 30,000) you will get 100-200 points higher ELO if you use a computer instead of a phone or tablet.
It is bigger, it makes you concentrate more, less distractions, less chance of slipping , and as I say, you get a few extra features like the red squares. In fact, on chess, com you can get yellow, blue and green squares as well if you hold various keys.
For reasons I won't bore you with, it's not a viable option for me. Do you think there'd be an advantage to using a lo-tech approach instead? I could make a 3x3 square with a 👑 in the centre and mark out the attacked escape squares in pencil.

well higher level players do the mating net idea in their head. they can just see "it".
If you are playing Daily Chess, than using paper could work. Live chess time controls, I am not sure if you would have time.
Blitz: nope, I doubt it.
But this mating net really will ensure that you WIN a game most of the time, so even if you was 1-2 mins of clock time, it might be worth it
This website must be also quite helpful
hope y’all find it well
it’s a video of checkmates and tactics.
MATING NET!
Using the concept is GUARANTEED to win you more games.
Not only that, it will help you see some very tricky checkmate patterns.
