I've got one of these and, on the low settings, I don't think it plays like a weak human player. It actually plays like a pretty solid player who knows the openings but occasionally makes a terrible blunder.
Millenium ChessGeniums onboard computer difficulty

Thanks a lot for the input, I'm glad I'm not the only one finding it pretty strong! It's too bad because I don't think the board can be connected to chess.com's computer mode (only real players I believe).
I'm not sure if mine's exactly the same model as yours. I think it's the "Pro 2024" version. It has got an options menu and I've just been playing around and found that you can turn off the opening book and the "PermanentBrain" (which thinks during your moves). I've just tried a game with these options and it seems much more like a beginner. In particular, it no longer makes perfect book moves in the opening!
Hi!
I recently got the Millennium ChessGenius, mostly as a way to spend less time in front of a screen, and while I'm happy with it, I find the onboard computer to be quite intense. Even on level 0 in mode "fun", I'd say it plays at about the 1200 level of the computer on chess.com. Anyone else noticed that? Could I maybe have misconfigured it somehow? One reason I find it unfortunate is that I was hoping my kid would also be able to use it, but at 5 years old, I don't think he'll be able to do anything against the onboard computer
Thanks!
