My opponent was 397 above me, why?

I was 688 and started a 60 min game. Why did I get a 1085 player?

I'm confused.

Probably because it was the only available player who was "close to you" in rating.

Thanks happy.png It didn't feel very "close" but I fought 'till my last breath!

You can set the minimum and maximum difference in ratings. Go to settings - live matches and set it up.
