Players aren't innocent of anything. The decide to play a certain way and I decide to block them for playing a certain way, because I don't care for facing that style of play in the future. They can go and play that style against thousands of other players, just not me.

because you are close minded and selfish

I only play people who promise to sac their queen by move 3. All others get reported!

He thinks there's something as bully chess... like how the hell would you even define that. You play exploitable and bad and get a terrible position now the other guy is a bully and will get blocked. The hell is that?

He thinks that with a low/average rating and with there being millions of players that him blocking someone is going to make any sort of difference.

Of course I think there is something that can be characterized as bully chess. It is highlighted (but not properly defined) by aggressive, typically (but not always) unsound moves, a preference for gambits, opening traps and tricks designed to try and make the opponent lose not just the game being played, but also their self confidence. That's quite common in scholastic tournaments. The idea is to play chess without any finesse and crush the opponent with "extra points" if you humiliate them and make them not want to play chess against you anymore. That's bully chess and it's sadly, quite prevalent here.

As for me blocking players here... it makes me feel satisfied when i can prevent that kind of player (post facto, that is) from playing me again. Would it be better if I could block them ex ante? Sure... but I believe in giving people their fair chance not to be bullies. Many aren't, but many are.

Well... Wouldn't you be close minded and selfish if you insist that I play against those that I don't want to play against? Why are your "wishes" or my opponent's any more important than mine?

According to your rating most of what you play is unsound chess and you should probably be banned from tournaments according to your own logic.

People organizing tournaments can block me and prevent me from participating in them if they so desire. No problem at all. Notice, however, that I never claimed to play sound chess. In fact, I have repeatedly stated that I don't play serious chess here.

Something kind of hilarious about a so-called chess player boasting about blocking people because they're too good for him. Sounds like a recipe for smug, perpetual mediocrity

Yea, OP really has to grow up.

Not the best recipe, though. Furthermore, the more I play in here, the more I notice the prevalence of bully chess on this site, compared to other sites.

You are the only one suffering from this delusion.

Maybe... But it's an entertaining delusion.

Bully chess is just taking all your opponents pieces when you could just checkmate them, literally the opposite of what you are saying.

We just have a different take on what constitutes bully chess.

So you don’t have an actually definition, it is just your opinion on what bully chess is?

I think the OP is just trolling.

You guys seem to confuse me being able to play against bully chess (even if the claim is that I can't define that), with me actively disliking bully chess and blocking those who, imo, play it.

I never claimed to have a definition.
