HELLOW
@rishabh11great yeah, that I can consider annoying too. These days my patience is being tested and not coming to me, so I have decided to block any play that irks me. For instance, I just blocked a guy who play sound, but aggressive. I can't deal with the Bc4 Nf3 quick attack on f7 mate threats over and over without feeling disgusted by it. So people who play for that I may block too.

I can help you with that if you want gernally if your castled and they take with the kinght of f7 you take back with rook then they take with bishop you take with king, and well belive it or not you have a small edge because your pieces can be more active.
May want to block me in advance because I'm in your general rating band and I've been playing blitz like a savage lately. No f pawn is safe.
Sometimes I work on being sound, but I've been in a mood lately and threads like this have inspired me to help out 1000ish blitz players who worry about sound openings by demonstrating that none of that matters if you can't handle a moderately creative lunatic.

What I mean is... I become bored and disgusted with that kind of aggressive play, not that I don't know how to refute it. I just care enough about my state mind to try and prevent that kind of play from ruining my online chess experience. My main beef with a sizable population of this site/community is the emphasis on aggressive mating in under 20 moves play, the fondness for opening traps and other such "tricks". I consider all of that disgusting, hollow and not worthy of my time. I may accept it as an unavoidable part of OTB tournament play, but even in blitz OTB the number of players playing that kind of annoying chess is substantially reduced... to almost nothing. So why tolerate it online? I see no point.

it even happens in OTB
you can't control your opponent, this also works in your favor your learn to defend more efficetively

Well, now I know you, so it's unlikely you will be blocked, unless you go above and beyond in your quest to annoy me. For the most part, I've learned that a preemptive block robs me of the satisfaction of properly reacting to annoying play.
i never really threatend with them either
I never threaten. Mine are always post facto. You play in a way that irks me and you're likely to be blocked. And sometimes I will even explain why I block you.

Sure, it happens. How often? Not that often as in here. I can deal with a couple of games played by annoying players every once in a while.
As for defending more effectively... I don't come here to learn how to do it. The only reason I'm here is to enjoy some extra online chess time. My entire frame of mind is disposed towards interesting games, not the usual traps and tricks that I routinely face.
How blocking will help? it is not like you will play against someone twice there are 2000000 players playing every moment.

Help? It's not about it "helping". Just preventing me from facing that player again, which is what I want.
Sure, but I've yet to see many players play annoying chess OTB. Unlike you I detest aggressive unsound chess at blitz or bullet...
I also hate it- but there is no way around it. If you want to get better you just have to deal with them, otherwise you’ll never overcome your weakness.

You think it's a weakness. That's a way to consider it, I'll grant you that, but that's not how I see it. I just dislike it, a lot! Since I come here to have a good extra online chess time (and not to get better), I don't see a point in tolerating that.
I'm not sure if blocking players because they play a particular style is such a good idea. After all, to grow and develop as a chess player, we must learn to face all kinds of players. If I player has an annoying style, I rather review what they did, and find a way to fight back. But I have blocked plenty of players for adbamdoment. If I know that I'm not able to win a game, then I resign, but I have faced plenty of players who instead of resigning, they adbamdom the game. If they do that, I do block them.

Well, what I said was faaaaaaaar different then what I said, you are literally scared and running away from your weaknesses, if you can’t deal with that thing, work on it, what you said makes no sense. I said I sometimes I block people who “play all nonsense moves, get a lost position and then flag me”. Blocking sound players means that you lack sportsmanship Ngl, also I unblock most of them within a few days.

Sure, but that rests on the premise that I want to get better into the game by playing here, which is not valid. But anyway, my point is that using the block button liberally is not a bad idea...
A few months ago in a long thread that I launched as an appeal... I mentioned that I had started blocking players that I didn't want to play anymore. I received backlash about it, because my reasons where based on their playing style and particular openings.
For the past 10 weeks I've been blocking about 3 players on average for playing annoying chess. I wanted to share that because I think "liberal" use of the blocking feature is a good idea to make your chess.com experience more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I actually did that a few times. Some people were playing some nonsense against me and then atleast flag me when they are losing, also I got matched with some of those players many times, so I had no option but to block. Also when I say “nonsense”. I don’t mean odd openings. Some players literally pushed all their pawns on the 3rd rank or some other trash stuff. This is not good for my chess lol and also it’s not fun, also I unblock most of them after a few days.
