Opening Principles
Develop Your Pieces: Bring out your knights and bishops from the back rank early in the game.
Control the Center: Focus on controlling the four central squares (d4, e4, d5, e5) to give your pieces more influence and movement options.
Protect Your King: Castle early to get your king into a safer position, often behind a pawn shield.
Don't Bring the Queen Out Early: A queen brought out too soon can become a target for your opponent's less valuable pieces, allowing them to gain time (tempo).
Avoid Moving the Same Piece Twice: Unless there's a clear advantage, try to move each piece only once in the early stages to maintain development.
