Opening setup for beginners

For beginners, I suggest this opening setup for Whiie and Black. These aren't the best but basically the goal is to get your feet wet and lessen your chances of committing blatant tactical errors and put your opponents out of book.

Once you grasp the point of these setup, feel free to vary one pawn at a time. I would like to see some results of this. I don't think I can try this as a beginner because I am no longer a beginner. At 2100, I will probably lose with this setup but for folks below 1200, I think this is ok (also comical too).

Again this is not the best or correct opening ut try it. My point is to lessen your chances of attacking like a mad man and wait for your opponent to go wild instead.

If a beginner wants to remain beginner forever this is definitely the way to go.

I understand your response. I get it. I have the same initial impressions but this has positives (besdies drawbacks).

- Easy setup to remember

- Not prome to early f2/f7 mates

- Hard for beginners to breach against

- Hard for beginners to tactically suicide early

Feel free to suggest a better one and if a beginner can test yours and mine would be great to see. I can't prove or disprove since I have no beginner players here in my area.

Lol. You got a better suggestion? Another e4 and d4? Let's hear it.

e4, d4, c4 and Nf3 are all fine options. This is just an abomination.

Those are fine. I won't disagree with that. But I still believe my suggestion has pros for beginners. I am not claiming it's rhe best.. I have seen enough beginners who suicde early because of your suggestions. And they get into the habit of just following a book because of monkey see and monkey do suggestion. Sorry for the lack of better analogy but you get what I mean (from my other response from other threads). But being out of book early on forces both sides to start thinking.

Also not sure why you like name calling folks as troll or aabomination It feels you get enjoyment in personally attacking someone?

SamuelAjedrez95

It's not monkey see, monkey do. That's when you just copy someone without understanding why. It's learning from professionals who know what they're doing instead of trying to be quirky and making up some random bs which doesn't work.

This is horrible because it doesn't strike in the centre, it doesn't develop any pieces and also it creates holes on the light squares like swiss cheese.

Monkey see, monkey do is pejorative because you are comparing chess players to monkeys for playing the moves which are proven to be good play. So the only way to not be a monkey (in your eyes) is to play stupid bs that no-one else plays because it's so stupid and doesn't work.

SamuelAjedrez95

This is a troll opening and it is an abomination. If you get offended then that's too bad.

You're the one who calls people monkeys for playing the main line openings that you don't like. I guess we have to play the quirky (bad) openings you make up in order to not be a monkey.

Setting up on the other color would be much worse. What OP shows is actually pretty solid... sure it's a troll-ish suggestion, but it's not nearly as bad as it looks.

Those aren't even the opening you show... would have been a better troll if you'd won with what you'd shown... I've played that way as a troll opening too... here I'll go win some real quick
