which opening is best for black?

Most coaches answer the following: any sound opening that you feel comfortable with is a good opening.

(Sound, as in: not gimmicky or relying on tricks or traps).

Absolutely, my best advice here is to pick an opening you feel comfortable with against both e4 and d4 (and to a lesser extent c4 and Nf3) that isn't completely busted, and learn it well. The more likely you can get it the better.

Openings for black with the best reputation are:
Berlin, Marshall, Petrov, Sveshnikov, Najdorf;
Grünfeld, Queen's Gambit Declined, Slav, Queen's Gambit Accepted.

caro kann and QGD a6 line, i would recommend you to check Christof Sielecki chessable keep it simple series they are the best for beginners until expert level to play so that they can concentrate on the other areas of their chess, going for the 'best reputation' openings that are currently been played by top GMs in this level is not a good idea as they require tons of theory to learn, play those simple openings until you reach 2300 FIDE then you can expand your repetoires to play the Italians, RUy lopez, Najdorf etc

I think Caro Kann is absolutely the best in my elo (1250). as it is understandable, not as complicated as the Sicilian, and not as tactical as modern/Pirc defense. It's very easy for black to equalize. But it's a little bit dry. But if you play this every game and your opponent may have played against this for like only 5% of their games you will are more likely to have a better middle to endgame.

There is no such thing as a "best opening".
