For white, I think it's pretty standard to move your king's pawn up 2. For black, I like the Russian Defense, the Sicilian Defense, and the French Defense. But the main rule of thumb is to try to control the center of the board, I find it doesn't really matter how you do it.

I get that it appears that way. But if you look at the OP's losses, you will see that he lost because of blunders in the opening. Not because they forgot/mixed up theory.
That's like blindly memorizing openings, and having no understanding of the positions.

That i can understand. I fell out of love with it about a year ago. Unlike many, I am doing well. Still have a job to go to. Im basically a hermit, so not much has changed for me. Hope youre doing well.
