Openings that teach important concepts to beginners

Hi, I am not looking for openings that are necessarily easy to play and will give beginners a better win percentage against other beginners. I am looking for openings that can teach important strategical themes, such as "how to develop a good attack", "when it is good to open the center and when it is not", "how to properly organize a minority attack" etc. These openings don't need to be easy, I don't care if I might lose most of my games as long as my losses teach me something that might help me improve.

Giraffe_Chess

d4 with white and the caro-kann with black both teach incredibly important concepts to beginners. It's tough to lay everything out in detail here since the openings are complex, but these openings are highlighted in almost all of my YouTube videos to date. Thanks for the help! Do you think the KID can also help to practice kingside atacks and learn when to attack and when to defend?

If you really like all out attacks, go for it! Positions get really fun. But for beginners? no. The concepts are kinda difficult to play, because nobody knows "when to defend"

Not really easy to play, but the Spanish for both black and white teach some of the most important concepts in all of chess.

Hahahahahh this comment made me cry with laughter. If you think the Sicilian is easy to master why aren’t you world champion.

“It’s relatively easy to understand”

”it’s a bit advanced”

”somewhere on YouTube”

no, not really. For all of those.

Greetings chess lovers, I am stuck in a rut. Been playing chess casually for 20 years, and in February of this year I finally beat the man that taught me the basic moves---my dad. Anyway I had a chess coach analyze my level in person last year. He said my chess.com rating is lower than my actual skill level. My ratings here stay around mid 900s but my skill level is around the 1000s. I want to be a Grand Master. How do I level up well? What do I need to do to improve into the mid 1000s (at least)? I keep a plateau in the 900s---how do I break free? Please help me!! But I am and always will be in love with chess.

That was my second game and it was 5 min blitz. Anyway, I know I'm bad but I'm trying to improve and get help to be able to do it.

I think that KID is a great defense for the beginner and advanced player. Definitely one of the defenses to use and have in ones repertory, You can even explore KIA if you are not an aggressive player and like positional developments.

Ok guys, you dont have to be a GM to understand and play the Sicilian. Ofc its not easy to be an expert to this opening, but he can learn it etc.
