players similarity rated….

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected chess coach and chess YouTuber based in California:

For me, most of the time I am paired with people who are below 200 or 200 points above my rating.
Consequently, only the extremely weak 400 rated players remain. :P

Leaving aside all of the snark, just don't worry about ratings and play. But after a game, do an analysis and try and learn from your inaccuracies, mistakes, and blunders by stopping and trying to understand why a particular move was bad.
The more you do both (play and analyze critically) - even if you're brand new - the more you'll learn and you'll begin to improve. Also, play puzzles when you can as they help you recognize patterns and situations.
Ultimately, though, who cares what level you are playing against? Just play for fun. And tune out those who feel compelled to insult you along the way.
