This was in puzzle rush, white to move. I got the first move right f4. I thought the idea was to open the file. After opponent takes I moved the rook to the f file, thinking I could regain the pawn and control the file, but that was wrong. What is the idea here?

The idea of moving f4 is that it opens Rxh3+ which skewers the Black king and wins the rook.

(And the king cannot retreat to g5 because the f4 move controls that square. Black is forced is retake the pawn or suffer checkmate on the next move.)
